Incorporating cross training to prepare for a run/race is very important for numerous of reasons. A few of the benefits of using cross training in preparation for a race are as follows:

  • Cross training is functional, full body, endurance, and conditioning training all in one workout
  • To better your race time, you need to enhance your muscular strength and muscular endurance, which cross training focuses on both at the same time
  • Cross training will target fast twitch and slow twitch muscle fibers, which you need both when running in a race
  • Your entire Core will be targeted throughout the workout, which we all know how important it is to have a strong core when competing in any type of race

In conclusion, I am a true believer that using cross training to prepare for a run/race will maximize your results!
