Well, Spring is officially here and I think finally here. Seems like it was Spring all Winter and then Winter finally made a brief appearance last week and then slipped away. Spring makes running so much easier. Not too cold, but not too hot. I guess that is why there are so many races in April!
Here at junction 311 Endurance Sports, we are busy gearing up for our second race of the Spring season and fourth of the year. The HopSwap Half Marathon and 5k at Foothills Pub on Saturday, April 1 is officially sold out! We are very excited about working with Foothills, First bank and OrthoCarolina to make this event happen. The cool thing is that if you haven’t registered to run, you can come on out and have fun any way. There will be beer, food and music and you can cheer on all the runners. And the weather is looking awesome to boot!
Spring is a time of renewal and the season for new starts, and Junction 311 Endurance Sports a has a couple of exciting announcements for 2017.
First we have acquired the Craft Classic half Marathon & 5k in Atlanta from Road Runner Sports. There were 1,300 finishers last year and we are looking to grow it to the 2,000 range in our first year of management. We will continue to partner with Road Runner Sports and Monday Night Brewing Company as race sponsors.
The Craft Classic is a great fit for our portfolio of races. We are strong in management of half marathons and will be able to expand our footprint as a company.
Now for something a little more local. We are very happy to have signed a contract with the United Way of Forsyth County to manage the Moonlight Madness 5k. This is a fantastic event and has a great history. We are excited to be a part of rebuilding it to its former glory! The United Way is busily planning some new and awesome things to make this a fantastic race and great party on the first Friday of Fall.
Yes, it is Spring and it is EXCITING!
