Oh my goodness, it is a very busy and crazy week leading up to Cannonball! We are working on making it bigger, better and more special than ever. The marathon adds a whole new level of logistics and complexity. Good thing I have a great team backing me up!

Still slowly getting back into things. Have had a number of good short runs, but haven’t ventured much beyond three miles yet. I hope to squeeze in something longer this week before the race on Saturday. Will really have to start ramping things up if I want to be able to finish a half in Pensacola on Nov 13. Only 4 weeks from Saturday. There will probably be lots of walking involved!

Now that I am getting healthy again, I am eyeing a late spring marathon. Maybe a return to the Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City, MI, my lovely wife’s home town. It is a beautiful course and just enough hills to make it interesting but not too tough. The only bad thing would be that I would not pick up a new state. One of my life goals is to be a 50 stater. I want to get in 15-20 before I retire, and then travel around doing 4 or 5 “easy” marathons a year until I get them all.

Let me know if you have any recommendations for late spring or early summer marathons. Would love to get a new state.

Don’t Stop Believing!
